- Habits: Names, categories, completion dates, and progress
- Journal Entries: Your personal reflections, mood, and journal content
- Workout Plans: Exercise routines and progress tracking
- Reading Progress: Books and reading analytics
Device & Usage Information
- Device Information: Browser type, OS, and platform identifiers (e.g., Android/iOS)
- Usage Analytics: Crash logs and app performance diagnostics
- AI Chat Data: Messages sent to the AI Coach for habit analysis and motivation

4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.2+). We store data on secure servers managed by Supabase, a trusted cloud provider with SOC 2 compliance. We implement:
- Row-Level Security (RLS) to ensure you can only access your own data
- Password hashing using bcrypt
- API authentication and session management
- Regular security audits and monitoring
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data in these limited cases:
- Service Providers: Third parties who assist us (e.g., Supabase for database hosting, Vercel for web hosting)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights
- AI Providers: Your chat messages and relevant habit data are temporarily processed by our AI gateway (using Groq LLMs) to provide the AI Coach features. Data is NOT used to train these models.
6. Your Data Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correct: Update or correct inaccurate information
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and data
- Export: Download your data in a portable format
- Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from promotional communications
7. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising networks. We do not show ads in the app.
8. Third-Party Integrations
HabitQuest integrates with third-party AI services:
- Groq via TriderAI Gateway: We use Groq inference models for the AI Coach. Your chat messages and necessary habit context are sent securely for processing.
- These services have their own privacy policies and strict data processing agreements.
9. Children's Privacy
HabitQuest is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy periodically. Your continued use of HabitQuest after changes constitutes acceptance.
